Denominations?
Don’t believe in ‘em.
Yes, I know they exist, but I wish that they didn’t.
Don’t get me wrong; I don’t want to get rid of the people in the denominations. There are many lovely people in the denominations.
I just would rather see all believers united in faith and practice.
As far as I can see, the only way for that to happen is to strip away everything except the one thing we can all agree on. We all agree that the Bible is from God. So if we get rid of everything else and agree to follow the Bible – to follow everything it says and only what it says – then we have a shot at the kind of unity described in Ephesians 4.
So, this blog contains reflections on the Bible, the whole Bible, and nothing but the Bible. If you see something here that reminds you of some denominational creed or practice, that is mere coincidence.
If you see something here that you believe is not true to God’s word, I would consider it a favor if you would point it out to me. Leave a comment on the post where you find the error and I will reflect on it. Or you can email me directly here: jim at thesimplebible dot net.
